Third Steering Committee meeting of the project “Improve the visibility of the joint cultural heritage through Carpathian Cultural Route”

On July 29, 2026 the third Steering Committee meeting took place for the project “Improve the visibility of the joint cultural heritage through Carpathian Cultural Route”, which is implemented by the Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania) in partnership with the NGO “Association of Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)” (Ukraine) and Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (Ukraine) in the framework of the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Programme 2021-2027 (https://next.huskroua-cbc.eu). The project is co-funded by the European Union.

Representatives of the partner organizations involved in the project implementation took part in the Steering Committee meeting. Viktor Rudnytskyi –  Chairman of the public organization “Association for Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)”, a member of the Project Steering Committee, welcomed the Project Steering Committee. He noted that more than 90 participants from all over Ukraine in the international training seminar, which was organized by the public organization “Association for Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)”, as well as a significant number of participants in the second seminar, organized by the Center for Small and Medium Business Development of Maramures County, indicate that the Carpathian Cultural Route has acquired not only regional, but also national significance. This statement is complemented by the inclusion of the Carpathian Cultural Route in the list of national cultural routes of Romania. This is the result of the joint work of all project partners.

At the third meeting of the Project Steering Committee, the following issues were considered: the progress of implementation of the project “Improve the visibility of the joint cultural heritage through Carpathian Cultural Route”; the organization and implementation of two exchange of experience tours (1 in Ukraine and 1 in Romania); the development and publication of a training manual for existing and potential participants of the network (in 3 languages) “Valorization of cultural heritage through the Carpathian Cultural Route”; the organization and holding of the International Conferences “Carpathian Culture Days” (1 in Ukraine and 1 in Romania); the development of a trilingual guide “Carpathian Cultural Route”; the development of memory sticks with videos of the Carpathian Cultural Route; the updating of the joint website of the Carpathian Cultural Route; the updating of the mobile application; and the updating of the presentation software of Digital Information Points (INFOKIOSKs).

Radu Big – Executive Director of the Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Maramures (Romania), Project General Director, Mariya Kovaliv – Vice-Chairman of the NGO “Association for Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk (AEDIF)”, Project Manager, and Liudmyla Arkhypova – Professor at the Department of Ecology of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Project Manager, reported on the progress of the project “Improve the visibility of the joint cultural heritage through Carpathian Cultural Route” from September 2025 to July 2026 and outlined the tasks related to the planned activities within the project implementation on both the Ukrainian and Romanian sides. Particular attention was paid to the organization and implementation of two exchange of experience tours, the development and publication of the training manual “Valorization of cultural heritage through the Carpathian Cultural Route,” the organization and holding of two International Conferences “Carpathian Cultural Days”, and the development of a trilingual guide “Carpathian Cultural Route”.

The members of the Project Steering Committee expressed their proposals and recommendations regarding the further implementation of the project and discussed the importance of the Steering Committee’s activities as a public body established within the framework of the project.

Overall objective of the Project is to improve the visibility of the existing Carpathian Cultural Route as an instrument aimed to support the valorisation of the cultural and historical heritage in the Carpathian Euroregion. Specific objectives are: to enlarge the integrated cultural heritage product “Carpathian Cultural Route” that connect places of historical and cultural heritage with other attractions and services; to improve the skills and knowledge of cultural tourism representatives through the training and sharing experience program; to improve the visibility of the integrated cultural heritage product “Carpathian Cultural Route” at the regional and international level through the development of digital promotional materials, joint online information sources and mobile application.
